Biography

Special Assistant to the Provost for University Outreach and Engagement

Dave King serves as special assistant to the Provost for Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University, and professor in the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences.

Ecampus

In partnership with all OSU Colleges, Ecampus provides worldwide access to an OSU education through comprehensive online degree programs and has built a reputation as one of the nation’s best providers of online education. In each of the last four years, Ecampus has been top-ranked nationally by several independent publications based on academic quality, faculty credentials, student support, student satisfaction and other criteria. Ecampus delivers more than 35 undergraduate and graduate programs online and serves adult learners in all 50 states and more than 40 countries.

Open Oregon State

The Open Oregon State unit guides faculty through the creation of open learning modules, enabling them to share their expertise in digital media collections around the world. Their products include full courses, lectures, pedagogical materials and more. In partnership with OSU Libraries and the OSU Press, the Open Oregon State team also creates interactive, free, online textbooks for students worldwide. 

OSU Summer Session

Summer Session oversees the university’s summer term courses and programs in Corvallis and at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. Summer Session also manages the annual Natural Resources Leadership Academy, which attracts students and professionals from around the world to study for one or two weeks at America’s natural resources university.

Professional and Continuing Education (PACE)

PACE offers 100+ online and onsite certificate programs, short courses and workshops that are designed for personal and professional development. PACE also partners with corporations and organizations to design, develop and deliver corporate training, custom e-learning, and workshops. 

Extension and Experiment Station Communications (EESC)

EESC increases access to new knowledge and expands the public understanding of science. EESC brings a broad communication expertise to help OSU Extension and Experiment Station faculty to develop learning materials for the general public, and to serve the accountability requirements of Oregon’s land grant university and our state and federal partners. The work is focused on public education and delivering products that make a difference.
