Children, Youth and Family Committee

The Oregon State University Children, Youth and Family Committee is charged to guide university-wide planning and implementation of efforts to address and advocate for the family needs of students, staff and faculty. The Committee will

  • Advise the President, the Provost and other university leaders;
  • Review progress on university strategies related to children, youth and families; and
  • Provide an annual report to inform and advise future university strategies.

Based on the committee’s evaluation of the previous year’s progress it will recommend specific actions for the coming year.

Academic Year 2018-2019 Focus Areas:

  1. Examine best practices among U.S. research universities and other large employers in the provision of accessible, high quality and affordable family and child care resources for faculty, staff and students;
  2. Review OSU family and child care policies and practices and provide advice on changes and improvements; and
  3. Monitor progress on university strategies related to families and children and prepare an annual report to inform and advise future university strategies.

The committee is supported by the Office of the Provost through the Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and the Vice Provost for Student Affairs.
