Awarded annually since 1988 to outstanding active OSU faculty members who have achieved national and/or international stature as a result of their contributions to scholarship/creative activity, research, education, and service, and whose work has been notably influential in their fields of specialization. Selection will be announced by the Provost during WinterTerm.
Awarded annually since 1989 to an OSU undergraduate student for a literary work (fiction, poetry, or non-fiction). Prize consists of $500 award and publication of work for campus distribution in PRISM magazine. The formal award presentation is made at the annual all-university student recognition and awards banquet held in late May.
The Provost Purchase Award was established in 1987 to acknowledge the excellence of artworks produced by students from the Department of Art at Oregon State University. To give visibility to these exceptional students and the wonderful works they have created, a collection of the artworks selected for this award are hung in and around the Provost’s office in the Kerr Administration Building. The prize consists of a $500 purchase award, and the winner is announced at the Art Department's year-end reception held annually in early June.
