Dear Audrey, Zach, Sophia and Madison:
Thank you for speaking at the board meeting today. We appreciate your courage in sharing your experiences and perspectives. We want to affirm that your report detailed matters that were concerning. Some of the behaviors you described are not acceptable at Oregon State University and are contrary to our values. The expectations established under the Code of Student Conduct include treating one another with dignity and respect.
Again, thank you for your candor today. We respect you and value your contributions as student leaders. Mutual respect and trust among shared governance partners is important. Thank you for demonstrating those principles and for your meaningful engagement with the board.
We understand that a number of university offices and administrators have been engaging with you and providing support on these issues. We encourage you to continue working with them and report concerning behaviors to Student Conduct & Community Standards.
Please know that your wellbeing is important to us; there are many resources available at OSU to support you, your health and wellbeing.
Finally, we heard you when you asked us to look into your recognition requirements. There will be follow up.
