With the help of our campus partners and stakeholders, we identified goals and objectives to guide the OARC’s long-term strategy.

Our Mission

To enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance and advice.

Our Vision

To maximize the resources deployed toward the core academic, research and public service missions of the university by identifying ways to promote efficient and effective processes. The OARC also seeks to continually improve the productivity of OSU’s learning and work environment by promoting compliant and ethical practices that reinforce the university’s core values of accountability, diversity, integrity, respect and social responsibility.

Strategic Goals

Goal 1: Support an ethical community and culture.

  • Provide effective training and advising.
  • Promote the accountability and integrity hotline.

Goal 2: Foster use of risk identification and mitigation strategies.

  • Standardize a university-wide risk framework.
  • Promote training and use throughout the institution.

Goal 3: Promote efficient, effective, compliant and fiscally sound practices.

  • Establish self-assessment tools and training program in conjunction with key partners.
  • Implement a 3-year outreach plan for routine assurance service.
  • Encourage collaboration with professional organizations and peer groups.

Goal 4: Align operations with compliance best practices.

  • Finalize the compliance maturity model and assess university wide programs.
  • Create a 3-year action plan for improvements to the universitywide compliance program.
  • Champion university participation on national organization boards and federal and state rulemaking processes.

  • Reach and variety benchmarks.

Coverage

  • Trainings, consultations, self-assessments and audits.

Annual Survey

  • Feedback from compliance partners and audit clients.

Penalties

  • Significant external audit findings and fines.

Office Aptitude

  • Staffing qualifications, turnover and training.
