Task Force on Responsible Investing: Current Actions

The work of the Task Force on Responsible Investing will center around considering the alignment within OSU’s investment policies and to our mission to promote economic, social, cultural, and environmental progress for the people of Oregon, the nation, and the world, and OSU’s foundational values. The task force will complete its work by the end of the 2024-2025 academic year.

The task force will evaluate the alignment of institutional investment with OSU values and priorities, while maintaining compliance with relevant laws, regulations and policies. Anticipated actions and outcomes will include:

  • Developing a shared understanding of OSU investment policies and practices.

  • Examining OSU’s current investment policies and practices in alignment with OSU values.

  • Exploring current trends and best practices implemented at other universities.

  • Proposing a future framework for an ongoing outreach and engagement plan.

  • Developing recommendations for appropriate investment policy revisions, if any, to the OSU Board of Trustees for their consideration and potential adoption.

During the fall quarter, the task force completed the following:

  • Selected committee membership and communicated to coordinate the first round of meetings.
  • Prepared materials for the committee’s consideration.

In the winter quarter, the task force will advance its work by:

  • Listening and gaining an understanding of task force members interests and priorities.
  • Exploring and understanding OSU’s investment policies and practices, as well as reviewing current higher education best practices and ESG screening criteria.
  • Broader engagement for listening sessions. These engagements will inform the framework for ongoing outreach and engagement beyond the life of the task force.
