The unauthorized overnight encampment on the Valley Library Quad has dispersed. While OSU did not engage in negotiations with encampment demonstrators, it has been highly responsive to concerns related to violence in Gaza, Israel and the region. The actions now being implemented are concrete, meaningful and consistent with the university's mission, values and commitment to engaging broad community input.

- The Associate Dean of Student Belonging, Senior Associate Vice Provost & Dean of Students and the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Diversity Initiatives and encampment representatives hold a meeting to discuss amended language to the May 21, 2024, letter.
- Later that evening, encampment representatives notified the university that while they appreciated OSU’s actions, they did not plan on dismantling their encampment until their unmet demands were satisfied.

- Since the encampment began, Protest Response Team (PRT) members have been in frequent in person contact with organizers, speaking with them ~3 times/day to determine the encampment’s status, confirm the encampment is unauthorized, identify PRT members present as ‘shifts’ change within the encampment, and address any immediate/emerging safety concerns or needs.
