Information about the 2022 Summit

What: Inaugural State of Black Affairs Summit

When: Wednesday May 25th, 2022

Location: OSU Portland Center 555 SW Morrison St, Portland, OR 97204

Time: 9am - 5pm

Registration is Required: In-person registration fees cover admittance to the event, coffee, light breakfast, snacks, and lunch.

Cost: $75 (virtual registration available through May 23, 2022 at 2:00pm)

  • Note: the $100 in-person registration option is now CLOSED
  • Conference sponsorship opportunities for OSU employees (covering registration costs) are available through the Office of Institutional Diversity. Please contact Pamela Johnson
  • Any OSU employees wishing to coordinate sponsored transportation to and from the Summit should submit a request here

Session presenters and panelists represent educators, professionals, and community leaders across the state of Oregon.

  

Keynote speaker announced!

Lisa C Willis

We are excited to have Lisa C. Willis as the keynote speaker for the 2022 Black Summit. Willis, an apparel wear test analyst for Nike, is a former USA Gold Medalist and retired WNBA player. She is the author of “When the Buzzer Sounds: A guide to transition players from the court to life after hoops” and has traveled the world as professional speaker and leadership consultant in the areas of race and ethnic relations, diversity, and social justice.
