OSU's Phi Beta Kappa student membership is a very active group, with meetings roughly once a month and activities including small group lunches with OSU President Ed Ray, conversations with visiting speakers such as Ta-Nehisi Coates, community service and engagement, networking opportunities, and nominating and selecting recipients of annual awards to faculty and staff who made a difference in their educations, and much more.
In 2017 the inaugural class of PBK student members established three awards that they intend for the chapter to evaluate and bestow on an annual basis in recognition of faculty and staff who helped to promote lifelong learning and enhance their educational experiences during their time at OSU.
