Dear OSU Community Members,
Today is Roy Haggerty’s first day back at Oregon State University, and I am so happy to welcome him as OSU’s provost and executive vice president.
I cannot think of a person more uniquely qualified to help lead OSU through this pivotal time.
Many of you will remember Roy from his 26 years at OSU, where he held leadership positions including dean of the College of Science, interim dean of the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, and associate vice president of research. Before stepping into his current role, Roy served as the executive vice president and provost of Louisiana State University.
As provost and executive vice president, Roy leads a comprehensive portfolio including OSU’s academic colleges, several administrative divisions and offices, and the OSU-Cascades campus in Bend.
A creative, forward-thinker with a grounding in OSU's mission, Roy will play a vital role in our future.
Let me also take this opportunity to thank Belinda Batten, who provided strong leadership and keen insight while serving as interim provost and executive vice president this spring.
Please join me in welcoming Roy back to Oregon State University.
Sincerely,
Jayathi Y. Murthy
President
