Student of Social Science; President of the Associated Students of the Cascades Campus

Taha Elwefati is a third-year student at OSU-Cascades. He was born and raised in Bend, Oregon, and has had the pleasure of seeing both this community and the university grow. He is pursuing a major in Social Science and a minor in Political Science. After graduation, he hopes to attend law school and move on to practice civil rights law. He has served in student government all three years at OSU-Cascades, most recently as the President of the Associated Students of Cascades Campus (AACC). Elwefati, along with ASCC, has worked diligently over the past three years to bring the student voice to all university decisions. Elwefati was also involved in the university's lobbying efforts that eventually led to the recent approval of funding for OSU-Cascades' Student Success Center. In addition, during his time in student government, the ASCC team has focused on bringing necessary resources to students, addressing issues such as housing and food insecurity.
