Founded in 1868 as Oregon’s land grant institution, Oregon State University serves the state, the nation and the world as a premier 21st-century research university. Appointed by and working closely with the university’s governing Board of Trustees, the president is the executive and governing officer of the university, overseeing two campuses and a nationally ranked online degree program that serve 32,000 students, including more than 5,000 graduate students.
