Assistant Professor of Marketing, College of Business at OSU-Cascades

Amy Watson is an assistant professor of Marketing in the College of Business at OSU-Cascades. Her research is focused on consumer behavior, examining how individuals use consumption to influence social interaction and how consumers incorporate labels into product evaluation and decision making. Dr. Watson is passionate about branding and loves teaching students how to convert consumer behavior insights into branding strategy. Last year she was appointed by the Oregon State Treasurer to the Oregon Savings Network Board; she also serves as an Opportunity Knocks group facilitator for early career young professionals. Before entering her Ph.D. program, Dr. Watson worked in one of the nation’s largest privately owned food advertisers working for clients such as PepsiCo, Tyson, and Mars, Incorporated. She uses this experience and her continued interaction with the advertising industry to teach students how to translate branding strategy into advertising communication. She received her doctorate in Marketing from the University of Arkansas.
