OSU students, faculty and staff,

It is my pleasure to announce that Andrea Ballinger will join OSU as vice provost for information and technology effective Sept. 30.

Andrea has over two decades of experience in higher education. She has been a key driver for IT operations, transformations, and strategies at Illinois State University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her most recent role as Louisiana State University’s associate vice president and chief technology officer, Andrea provided leadership, vision, and direction to LSU’s investment, deployment and strategic use of information technology resources. Prior to her work in higher education, she spent several years in the banking and finance sector. She has an undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Andrea is passionate about reimagining the student experience, building strong IT teams, using data and analytics, and achieving operational excellence.

Interim vice provost Jon Dolan will return to his role as associate vice provost for IT after Andrea’s arrival. We have been lucky to have Jon’s experience, vision, and steady hand in the interim post. He advanced a number of important projects within IT while also contributing to university-wide initiatives. Our Division of Information and Technology is stronger today for his leadership.

Please join me in congratulating Andrea on her appointment as vice provost for information and technology, welcoming her to the OSU community, and thanking Jon for his service.

Sincerely,

Edward Feser
Provost and Executive Vice President
