Expansion of faculty and staff tuition reduction benefit to include Ecampus

Oregon State University colleagues,

I am writing to inform you of an exciting change in university policy. For many years, Oregon State has offered reduced tuition rates to eligible faculty, staff, and their dependents for classes offered on campus in Corvallis and Bend.

We are pleased to announce that starting this winter term, the faculty and staff tuition reduction policy will be expanded to include all courses delivered through Oregon State Ecampus. This new policy is in keeping with OSU’s 150-year mission to provide an accessible and high quality education to all Oregonians, including our own employees on our two campuses and statewide.

Oregon State is always searching for ways to retain and attract employees who will serve the university’s mission of excellence in teaching, research, and outreach and engagement. Expanding this benefit creates more opportunity for personal development and career advancement by offering educational opportunities in a format that provides the flexibility to learn wherever you reside and at times that best fit your schedule and needs.

All existing eligibility criteria for the tuition reduction benefit will apply to Ecampus courses with one exception: the discount on Ecampus courses will only be for Oregon State University faculty, staff, and their dependents, not for employees of other Oregon public universities. As is the case with the current policy, normal admissions processes, policies and deadlines apply.

OSU Ecampus is a national leader in online education, having earned a top 10 ranking from U.S. News & World Report each of the last four years. This national acclaim is the result of the innovation, quality teaching, and leadership from Ecampus staff and its more than 800 OSU faculty partners in 10 academic colleges, who collaborate to deliver more than 1,200 classes and 50-plus undergraduate and graduate programs online.

Visit the Office of Human Resources website for more information on the faculty and staff tuition reduction benefit. If you have questions, please contact Jessica Dalziel, Benefits Supervisor.

Sincerely,

Edward Feser
Provost and Executive Vice President
