Dear OSU Community members,

You are invited to attend three evenings of readings and discussion, with receptions, at the OSU Authors and Editors Recognition events. Join us at the Center for the Humanities on April 23rd, 30th and May 8th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. each night.

April 23: A night of history, politics, and ethnic studies featuring Nicole von Germeten, who will discuss her book Profit and Passion: Transactional Sex in Colonial Mexico and Ron Mize for his book Latina/o Studies.

April 30: A night of celebration for OSU work in fiction and poetry featuring David Biespiel for his book The Education of a Young Poet, Nick Dybek for his book The Verdun Affair, John Larison for his book Whiskey When We’re Dry, Elizabeth Sheehan for her book Modernism à la Mode: Fashion and the Ends of Literature and Megan Ward for her book Seeming Human: Artificial Intelligence and Victorian Realist Character.

May 8: A night celebrating editors of books and a discussion featuring Lisa L. Price for Costal Heritage and Cultural Resilience, Susan Shaw with Patti Duncan, Kryn Freehling-Burton, Nancy Staton Barbour and Jane Nichols for Women’s Lives Around the World: A Global Encyclopedia and Edward P. Weber for Governing Oregon: Continuity and Change.
