The charge to the Strategic Plan 3.0 (SP3.0) Steering Committee is to basically retain the vision, mission and three signature areas of distinct as defined in Strategic Plan Phase II, and to focus attention on (i) assessing and understanding OSU’s progress toward meeting goals and target metrics for Strategic Plan Phase II and (ii) reviewing, revising, and updating initiatives for each of the three Strategic Plan Phase II goals. The timeline for SP3.0 is as follows: develop preliminary key ideas/outcomes during Spring term, obtain feedback and make refinements in Summer and Fall, and present to academic community and finalize all revisions by conclusion of Fall 2013 term.
As part of these efforts, the Steering Committee is seeking input on issues ranging from enhancing academic success for our graduates; achieving pre-eminence in research, scholarship and outreach that aligns with OSU’s strengths and comparative advantages; recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty who are outstanding teachers, researchers, and scholars; and strengthening our engagement with alumni, donors and the public. Our intent is to assess the progress OSU has made toward achieving the goals of Strategic Plan II, to revise metrics and processes to achieve the objectives of our strategic plans, and to update the initiatives that will guide future investments in support of the three signature areas of distinction and the strategic goals. To these ends, we are obtaining input from the University community over the next few months relying on multiple tracks: one-on-one conversations, open forums, web-based feedback, and surveys/queries.
