To: OSU Faculty and Staff
From: Edward Feser, Provost and Executive Vice President
February 18, 2021
Dear OSU Colleagues,
The recent extreme weather conditions in our state and across the nation have caused many to be without electricity, water, Internet service, heat, and reliable cell service.
While emergency response is underway in some communities, the University is aware that many OSU students in affected areas have been unable to attend scheduled advising appointments, submit assignments, and attend classes, while some faculty and staff have been unable to teach and perform other work. The disruptions are compounded by challenges inherent to our remote learning environment.
I’d like to thank faculty and advisors for being flexible and accommodating impacted students as reasonably possible, and supervisors for doing the same for affected employees, including reminding them of the services and support offered through OSU’s Employee Assistance Program. I ask that we continue to provide support and care to our students and colleagues during this time.
Please continue to stay safe.
Sincerely,
Edward Feser
Provost and Executive Vice President
