To: President’s Cabinet, Provost’s Council of Deans, and Provost’s Executive Committee

From: Edward Feser, Provost and Executive Vice President

November 6, 2017

I am pleased to inform you that Jeff Sherman will assume administrative leadership for the OSU Gateway initiative, effective today. In this role, he will manage the launch and advance the mission and goals of the OSU Gateway program.

Jeff is currently Assistant Director for Oregon State University’s Division of Outreach and Engagement, where he is focused specifically on overseeing OSU Open Campus and special initiatives. Jeff will continue to advance the goals of OSU Open Campus, reporting directly to Scott Reed, Vice Provost for University Outreach and Engagement. For his appointment to develop the Gateway program, he will report Susana Rivera-Mills, Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Learning Innovation. Jeff will also work in close collaboration with Lisa Templeton, Associate Provost for Extended Campus, as well as the academic colleges and the director of the OSU Innovation Hub. I hope to announce the leadership for the OSU Innovation Hub shortly.

I look forward to working with Jeff and each of you to execute the vision laid out in the OSU Gateway proposal, hopefully resulting in another innovative offering and pathway to an OSU degree for an underserved segment of learners.
