Effective immediately, the Division of Extended Campus will assume the simplified name of Ecampus.

For more than 15 years, the Division of Extended Campus has served as an administrative umbrella for multiple units, including Ecampus, which supports Oregon State’s online degree programs and courses. In addition to housing Ecampus and its related units (the Ecampus Research Unit and Ecampus Open Educational Resources), the Division of Extended Campus provided administrative leadership and staffing for Summer Session and Professional and Continuing Education (PACE). As oversight of Summer Session and PACE shifted to other parts of the University this past year, streamlining the organizational name to Ecampus makes sense.

Ecampus currently encompasses the University's top-ranked degree programs that are developed online in partnership with colleges to a primarily off-campus, adult learner audience. Last year, more than 23,000 students enrolled in Ecampus classes from all 50 states and 50 countries; 9,051 were exclusively distance students.

Ecampus meets the needs of adult learners no matter where they live by providing access to vital resources such as student success counseling, OSU Libraries, exam proctoring and free tutoring. Ecampus partners with more than 800 Oregon State faculty members and offers award-winning instructional design and multimedia support. The unit also provides marketing and enrollment services for colleges across campus to help extend OSU’s expertise to learners everywhere, as well as support in the development of open educational resources.

Lisa L. Templeton serves as the Associate Provost for Ecampus, overseeing a staff of over 80 people dedicated to making our online programs among the very best in the country.
