The Office of the Provost seeks nominations and applications for the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs position. Note that applications are due no later than Friday, June 4, for full consideration.

The Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs heads the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) and oversees five areas: university-level programs to build and support an outstanding and diverse faculty (including University Libraries); programs and initiatives to develop and support academic leaders (department heads, school directors, and deans); implementation of the university's strategic plan; leadership of international strategies and global engagement; and academic policies and procedures, faculty personnel matters and approvals, and faculty labor relations.

As one of seven vice provosts reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President, the VPFA (previously Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs) is a member of the Provost’s Senior Leadership Team. The VPFA also attends the meetings of the Provost’s Council of Deans and serves as a member of the University Cabinet.

In their role providing leadership related to faculty affairs, the VPFA has significant impact on the University’s intellectual life. As staff and close partner to the Provost, the VPFA oversees a wide array of special projects and initiatives. See the attached announcement for more detail.
