From the Office of the President, Jayathi Y. Murthy

Dear OSU Colleagues,

We are pleased to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, recognizing extraordinary achievements by women within OSU and globally and highlighting continuing efforts to ensure gender equality throughout higher education, the workplace and society.

Events are being held across OSU this academic year recognizing the 50th anniversary of the university’s Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program, the Hattie Redmond Women and Gender Center, the President’s Commission on the Status of Women, and the 50th anniversary of Title IX.

We invite you to join us on March 8 for a reception celebrating the contributions of women throughout Oregon State. The gathering will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in the Memorial Union Lounge. In keeping with the United Nation’s 2023 theme, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality,” we are delighted to welcome guest OSU speakers Dr. Margaret Burnett from The GenderMag Project and Andrea Ballinger, vice provost for university information and technology.

Please also visit the International Women’s Day webpage for more details and a full list of events being held within OSU this year.

Sincerely,

Jayathi Y. Murthy
President
