Please join us on Friday, May 20 in the Memorial Union Horizon Room for lectures by OSU’s newest University Distinguished Professors: Michael Freitag, Kathryn Higley, and Brent Steel.

Register here for Professor Michael Freitag’s 9:00 a.m. lecture entitled Epigenetics: I Know It When I See It. Dr. Michael Freitag is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics in the College of Science.

Register here for Professor Brent Steel’s 11:00 a.m. lecture entitled The Democracy and Technocracy Quandary: Science, Scientists, and the Policy Process. Dr. Brent Steel is a professor and director of the Public Policy Graduate Program in the School of Public Policy, College of Liberal Arts.

Register here for Professor Kathryn Higley’s 1:00 p.m. lecture entitled Bugs, Bunnies, and Bombs: Radioecology’s Role in Radiation Protection. Dr. Kathryn Higley is the Edward N. Rickert, Jr. Professor in the School of Nuclear Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering and the interim director of the Center for Quantitative Life Sciences.

Advanced registration is encouraged. Each lecture will be followed by a reception. For those unable to attend in-person, each lecture will be live streamed on live.oregonstate.edu, as well as recorded.
