Dear OSU Community,
I am pleased to invite you to the next lecture in the Provost’s Lecture Series. Please join us for Laurie Santos’ lecture via Zoom on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m.
Dr. Laurie Santos is the Chandrika and Ranjan Tandon Professor of Psychology and Head of Silliman College at Yale University. She’s an expert on human cognition and the cognitive biases that impede better choices. Her course, “Psychology and the Good Life,” is Yale’s most popular course ever and has been taken by over 3.3 million people to date. Dr. Santos has been featured in numerous news outlets including the New York Times, The Today Show, NPR, GQ Magazine, CNN and O, The Oprah Magazine and is the host of the podcast, The Happiness Lab. Her podcast has been downloaded over 65 million times.
Dr. Santos’ lecture is the second in the 2022-23 Provost’s Lecture Series. The series, a partnership between my office and the OSU Foundation, brings renowned thinkers, writers, scientists, artists and leaders to OSU to engage, challenge and inspire.
Following her lecture, “The Science of Happiness,” Santos will be joined by Dr. Brian Primack, dean of the College of Public Health and Human Sciences, who will moderate a Q&A discussion. The lecture is free and open to the public. Register here to join us for OSU’s Provost’s Lecture featuring Dr. Laurie Santos.
I look forward to seeing you on April 4.
Sincerely,
Edward Feser
