- About the Board
The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021. The Board will consider the university’s plans for onsite and in-person instruction, work and activities for fall term, the university’s operating budget for the next fiscal year, and amendments to Board policies. The Board will consider advancing to the construction phase the Reser Stadium West Grandstands and Owen Hall repair projects. The Board will hear an update on the 2021 Oregon legislative session.
The Board also will review feedback from a retrospective review of the 2019 presidential search process launched earlier this month. The review will consider what went well in the last search process and what might be done differently in the future. Information about the retrospective review and the opportunity to provide input are available at this webpage. Preliminary considerations for the next presidential search process will be discussed at this meeting. Additional input and information will continue to be gathered following the May 21 Board discussion. The Board will discuss further the proposed process and timeline for the search at its next regularly scheduled Board meeting on Oct. 7. It is anticipated that the presidential search will officially begin in fall 2021 to enable students and faculty to participate.
This meeting is open to the public. Given COVID-19 guidance from the Governor’s Office, as well as university and county health officials, the meeting will be hosted through a remote conferencing service. The Board will hold an executive session as part of its agenda, pursuant to ORS 192.660(2)(e) to conduct deliberations with persons designated by the governing body to negotiate real property transactions and ORS 192.660(2)(f) to consider information or records that are exempt by law from public inspection (ORS 192.345(6), attorney-client privilege, ORS 40.225; and ORS 192.355(9)(a)).
