The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will hold executive sessions on Nov. 12 and 13 to consider employment of the university’s next president.

OSU’s Board of Trustees is engaged in a national search process to replace Ed Ray, who will step down on June 30, 2020, after 17 years of service.

According to Oregon law – ORS 192.660(2)(a) – a public body may meet in executive session to consider the employment of a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent.

Executive sessions are scheduled as follows: 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; 1 to 2:30 p.m.; and 3 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 13. 

Trustees also will hold a public meeting on Nov. 13 from 5 to 5:30 p.m. to consider delegating to the chair of the Board of Trustees the responsibility of negotiating a presidential employment agreement.
