Dear Members of the OSU Community,

We officially launched into the market on June 14 for the search for the next president of Oregon State University.  So far, the OSU community and its partners have been very active in submitting nominations – more than 149 have been received so far. A number of strong candidates have expressed interest, which the team at Witt/Keiffer Executive Search indicates is very promising. Please continue to send nominations to

I also wanted to remind you of the next steps in the search process. In early fall, the Presidential Search Committee will begin meeting to review applications and will interview a diverse pool of qualified candidates. The committee will prepare a report for the Board Chair, who will select a subset of those candidates to be interviewed by the Board in late fall/early winter. Concurrent with the Board’s interviews, a stakeholder group of university and community constituents will interview the candidates and provide input to the Board prior to its deliberation and ranking of the candidates. A full description of the search schedule is available here.

Thank you for your continued interest in this important effort.  If you have any questions about the search process, please send them to

Darry Callahan,
Chair, OSU Presidential Search Committee
