The Student Success Initiative, in alignment with the OSU Strategic Plan 3.0 , will be led by a Steering Committee, which will engage in a highly collaborative and intensive, evidence-based exploration of programs, interventions, services and resources that will lead to improving retention and graduation for all learners at OSU.

The Steering Committee's Work

In consultation with OSU faculty and staff who are delivering or directing student support, as well as the students themselves, the steering committee’s work includes review of SSI-related actions previously taken centrally and by colleges and identification of those actions that are most likely to yield significant impact relative to resource expenditure.  Metrics will be developed to track success of initiatives and interventions, both those previously taken and any future planned action.  At the culmination of this committee’s work, late spring 2018, a strategy will be recommended that clearly articulates goals, actions, responsible parties, budgets and milestones.  The full charge to the SSI Steering Committee can be found here.

The SSI Steering Committee will engage with central administrative units, colleges, and the OSU Foundation via information gathering and formation of special work groups.  This process will be a university-wide effort that engages all stakeholders in any proposed action or initiative.  If you have an interest in being a part of this work, contact the committee co-chairs, Dan Larson and Roy Haggerty, or committee support, Jen Humphreys.
