Substantially improve our physical and administrative research infrastructure
We invested nearly $350 million in renovations of 54 E&G buildings (including research stations around the state). Of this, nearly $150 million was invested to improve space dedicated to research in 42 buildings.
Created new interdisciplinary research and teaching spaces and infrastructure:
- At the Hatfield Marine Sciences Center, the Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building at the Center, which also serves as a tsunami evacuation point for the City of Newport
- At OSU-Cascades, Ed Ray Hall.
- On the Corvallis campus, the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex and the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts.
Modernized the University’s electronic research administration platform, improved the management of research conflicts of interest and human subjects, built new compliance modules, and created efficiencies in streamlining and processing submissions.
Significantly improved administrative processes and resources to support funded research, both pre- and post-award.
