Albany, Oregon

Greg Macpherson is president of Bannockburn Farms Inc., managing a farm that has been in his family for four generations.

Prior to 2015, Mr. Macpherson practiced law for 40 years in the Portland office of Stoel Rives LLP, a large regional firm that represents many major Oregon businesses. In that career he advised a wide-ranging clientele, including technology companies, regulated utilities, professional groups, and forest products companies.

Mr. Macpherson served on the board of trustees of the OSU Foundation from 2018 to 2023. He joined the board of directors of the Beaver Caucus in 2017 and continues on that board, advocating for OSU’s interests in Salem.

Such advocacy draws on Mr. Macpherson’s experience serving three terms in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. That service included being chair of committees on judiciary and land use.

From 2009 to 2017 Mr. Macpherson served on the Oregon Land Conservation and Development Commission including the last three of those years as chair. He continues to advocate for Oregon’s unique system of statewide land use protections that preserve agricultural and timberlands for future production.

Mr. Macpherson is a long-time member of the City Club of Portland, including service as president in 2015-16. In 2009 his civic contributions were recognized when the Oregon Business Association named him Statesman of the Year, joining prior honorees that include Senator Mark Hatfield, Governor Barbara Roberts and University of Oregon President Dave Frohnmayer.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University.
