To the Oregon State University Community,

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Grace Kuo as Oregon State University’s new Dean of the College of Pharmacy effective June 30.

Dr. Kuo is currently at the University of California San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She serves as Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, Adjunct Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health, Founding Faculty of the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Program Development, Director of San Diego Pharmacists Resource and Research Network (SDPharmNet), and Director of the Pharmacogenomics Education Program (PharmGenEd).

Dr. Kuo is a highly accomplished professor and researcher, who understands well Oregon State’s commitment to improving human health and wellness as part of the university’s land grant mission. Her national experience and leadership in collaborative education and research programs with physicians, hospitals and other universities will help advance the great success and contributions occurring within our College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Kuo was selected following a national search that attracted an outstanding pool of candidates. I offer my thanks to the search committee, chaired by Dr. Sue Tornquist, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, for leading the search process and helping us to attract Grace and her husband, Mark Christy, to Oregon State.

Dr. Kuo succeeds Dr. Mark Zabriskie who served as Dean from September 2010 to June 2018, followed by Dr. Mark Leid, who has served as Interim Dean since July 2018. Dr. Leid will continue to serve as Interim Dean until Grace’s arrival. I know that you join me in thanking Mark for his outstanding leadership and service.

Please join me in welcoming Grace to Oregon State University.

Sincerely,

Edward Feser
Provost and Executive Vice President
