Ecampus again achieves top 10 ranking

Jan. 27, 2026

Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to share today’s news that Oregon State University has again been recognized as one of the nation’s best providers of online education. U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of Best Online Bachelor’s Programs ranks OSU No. 6 overall. This is OSU’s 12th consecutive top-10 ranking, and we are the only institution in the nation to have earned this distinction each year since 2015.

Providing students with a high-quality Oregon State education online is central to the university’s strategic plan, Prosperity Widely Shared. Thanks to the work of Ecampus and nearly 1,300 faculty members who develop and teach courses online, OSU is a respected leader in this field.

Although earning rankings such as this one is never the goal of our work, it does reflect our ability to deliver transformative learning experiences to learners around the world.

U.S. News & World Report evaluates schools on a number of criteria, including the expertise of the faculty who teach online. In each of the 12 years OSU has earned a top-10 ranking, OSU has received among the highest marks in the nation for faculty credentials and training. For the second straight year, OSU received the highest score in the nation in the peer assessment category based on feedback from leadership at other higher education institutions. This underscores OSU’s status as a widely respected and innovative leader in the field of online teaching and learning.

I would like to thank our faculty, advisors, colleges and departments for their efforts in offering high-quality academic programs online; the Ecampus staff for its leadership, continuous improvement efforts and commitment to partnership; and everyone who contributes to the success of OSU’s online students.

Thank you for all you are doing to advance OSU’s strategic plan and our mission.

With appreciation,

Roy Haggerty

Provost and Executive Vice President
