Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to inform you that Nechell Bonds has resigned from her position as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management effective April 9. Effective immediately, she will step away from the role while taking personal leave. I thank Vice Provost Bonds for her accomplishments over the past several months, including efforts to establish an updated framework for strategic enrollment management to support the university’s continued success.
Dr. Prem Mathew has agreed to step down from his role as Faculty Senate President-Elect in order to lead the Division of Enrollment Management as Interim Vice Provost. His appointment as Interim Vice Provost is effective immediately. Dr. Mathew has been at OSU since 2004 and is currently an Associate Professor of Finance in the College of Business and founding Director of OSU’s Center for Advancing Financial Education, a program that provides financial wellness services to OSU students. Until June of 2025, Dr. Mathew served as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Student Development in the college where his responsibilities included oversight of the college’s scholarship, recruiting, retention and placement processes. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, MBA from the University at Buffalo, and Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
I remain fully committed to the success of the Division of Enrollment Management and offer my sincere thanks to Dr. Mathew for taking on the interim role. He is expected to serve through the end of the calendar year. My office will share updates with the university community when we solidify plans for a national search for the next Vice Provost.
