Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that the Division of Educational Ventures’ Associate Vice Provost for Market Development and Student Experience Jessica DuPont will serve as interim vice provost effective on June 1.
Jessica has served in the Division of Educational Ventures (previously, Ecampus and OSU Extended Campus) since 1998 when she helped to market Oregon State’s first online degrees. She has served in a number of leadership roles, and most recently, she heads up market development and growth strategies, oversees online student outreach and success, leads corporate workforce education, and spearheads corporate collaboration development. She and Vice Provost Lisa Templeton will work together in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition. I know the division is in good hands.
It is anticipated that Jessica will lead the Division of Educational Ventures for the duration of a national search and until the appointment of a new vice provost begins.
The national search, which was paused while I conducted an organizational assessment of a number of areas in the Provost and Executive Vice President’s portfolio, will now be formally launched. Note that as part of the search, we will conduct a quick review of the Educational Ventures division name (and vice provost title).
Dr. Susan Gardner is serving as search advisory committee chair. Please share your input regarding the vice provost role or submit your nominations via this survey.
I again offer my thanks to Vice Provost for Educational Ventures Lisa Templeton for her more than 30 years of leadership and service at OSU. Her many contributions helped lead the university to our strong national position in developing and delivering quality online education.
Roy Haggerty
Provost and Executive Vice President
