Kate Carter-Cram

Kate Carter-Cram (she/hers) is a Social Policy Ph.D. student in the School of Public Policy at Oregon State University. She is originally from Boise, Idaho, and her research interests are centered around development policy, economic inequities, gender, and labor.

Kate graduated magna cum laude from Boise State University in 2021 with her B.A. in global studies with an emphasis in international relations. While at BSU, she earned minors in economics and French and a certificate in user research. Kate was also named a BSU Top 10 Scholar and Graduating Student Leader. In 2023, Kate graduated from Cornell University with her M.S. in applied economics and management, with an emphasis in international development economics. While at Cornell, she also served as president of the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly and worked as a writing instructor with the Grand Challenges Program.

After graduating with her Ph.D., Kate aspires to work for an NGO or non-profit conducting policy evaluation and implementation research. She is excited to act as the inaugural graduate student trustee, working to represent graduate student interests on the OSU Board of Trustees as well as communicate the importance of OSU’s graduate students and their work to the broader community.
