Oregon State University's 2019-23 strategic plan (SP4.0): Transformation, Excellence and Impact was the fourth five-year strategic plan developed by OSU to articulate the university’s distinctive focus on academic excellence in all aspects of learning, discovery and engagement. This webpage is a report detailing the accomplishments of Transformation, Excellence and Impact.
From January 2019 through December 2023, SP4.0: Transformation, Excellence and Impact, guided Oregon State in the pursuit of four institutional goals: preeminence in research, scholarship, and innovation; delivery of transformative education accessible to all learners; significant and visible impact on Oregon and beyond; and an institutional culture of belonging, collaboration and innovation.
The goals were advanced through 20 actions, each of which comprised several projects and initiatives. An implementation team with designated leaders for each action led the work.
OSU’s work through SP4.0 led to significant changes and improvements in many areas, including enrollment management and financial aid, learning pathways and experiences, faculty work in research and teaching, budgeting, inclusion and the sense of belonging of members of the OSU community, diversity and equity, information technology and systems, engagement, and physical infrastructure and operations. A few accomplishments for each action are described below.
